Thermal bottles are a classic Montessori material focused on developing the thermal sense. Before presenting to the child, the metal bottles are filled with water at different temperatures so the child can compare and sort pairs according to temperature sensation. For easier orientation, one bottle in the body-temperature pair is marked pink.
Use and aims of the material:
Once the child masters working with the bottles, the material can also be used for a language lesson in nomenclature (cold, hot, lukewarm, warm) and for working with comparatives and superlatives in connection with situations from everyday life. Always prepare the water in the bottles just before the presentation. To check the water temperature, it is necessary to use a thermometer (it is not stated that it is included in the package).
